Government Continues Incentives for DTP VAT
The government has provided VAT incentives for house purchases since 2021. The incentives are for home purchases with a tax period from March to December 2021. The VAT incentive at that time was higher, namely 100 percent for houses with a maximum price of Rp. 2 billion and 50 percent for houses priced at above Rp2 billion to Rp5 billion.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the realization of VAT incentives on houses borne by the government until December 17, 2021 was only around IDR 790 billion or 15.8% of the IDR 5 trillion ceiling.
This, according to the author, the percentage is quite low. Even though DGT’s tax revenue exceeds 100 percent, the Indonesian people still need time to recover their economy because the world is still in a pandemic period.
VAT borne by the government in 2022 is given for submissions to individuals carried out during the January 2022 tax period until the September 2022 tax period.

Millennials with a mediocre budget can divert the cost of paying VAT for other needs, such as building a minimalist kitchen or garden with a simple fish pond behind the purchased home page.
